Creative Mornings

CreativeMornings is a monthly speaker series and morning gathering of creative types.  Each event includes a 15-20 minute lecture, followed by a 20 minute group discussion.  The gathering begins at 8:30am with the topic presentation starting at 9:00am and everyone taking off for work at 10am.  CreativeMornings are free of charge!

Jacob Krupnick is the creator behind Girl Walk//All Day – a feature-length dance music film shot in the subways, parks, stadiums, streets and public spaces of New York. In the making of Girl Walk//All Day, Jacob repeatedly employs the crowd as tool to tell a story that is relatable and engaging, using the entire city as a viable stage. By incorporating commuters and tourists into the narrative, raising funds to produce the film through Kickstarter, and setting the film to the music of mashup musician Girl Talk, the film examines how creative crowd participation can occur at every stage of a project. The film will be presented in large public screening events, encouraging viewers to experience something we feel all too rarely: positive public experiences, shared joy, and a sense of unity with people we might normally pass by. Girl Walk//All Day is part of a larger body of work regarding the city as a man-made theme park and focusing on personal orientation to urban space.
